Bill Gates: Seduced by the Siren Song of Vaccination

On February 4th Bill Gates (pictured above) appeared on CNN with Dr. Sanjay Gupta. The interview revealed a man obsessed with vaccines and vaccination. It appears years spent suffering delusional fantasies about saving the world from poverty and disease have taken an extraordinary toll on Gates. In this segment he imagines thousands of imaginary deaths being a result of a 1998 study out of England suggesting a possible link between vaccines and autism. Sadly Sanjay Gupta, revealing his own ignorance, does't challenge Gates' descent into fantasy. Here's Gates:
Well, Dr. Wakefield has been shown to have used absolutely fraudulent data. He had a financial interest in some lawsuits, he created a fake paper, the journal allowed it to run. All the other studies were done, showed no connection whatsoever again and again and again. So it's an absolute lie that has killed thousands of kids. Because the mothers who heard that lie, many of them didn't have their kids take either pertussis or measles vaccine, and their children are dead today. And so the people who go and engage in those anti-vaccine efforts -- you know, they, they kill children. It's a very sad thing, because these vaccines are important.
But I'm not the only one who's noticed Gates obsessive behavior. The New York Times just last week reported:
...Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet, the influential British medical journal, said via Twitter that “Bill Gates’s obsession with polio is distorting priorities in other critical BMGF areas. Global health does not depend on polio eradication.” (The initials are for theBill & Melinda Gates Foundation.)
And Arthur L. Caplan, director of the University of Pennsylvania’s bioethics center, who himself spent nine months in a hospital with polio as a child, said in an interview, “We ought to admit that the best we can achieve is control.”
Of course those profiting from his compulsive spending aren't going to discourage his crusade to save the Third World . After all there's a lot of money to be made from such endeavors. It was just last month in fact that the AP reported:
A $21.7 billion development fund backed by celebrities and hailed as an alternative to the bureaucracy of the United Nations sees as much as two-thirds of some grants eaten up by corruption, The Associated Press has learned.
And:
Other prominent backers include former U.N. secretary-general Kofi Annan, French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, whose Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gives $150 million a year.
So Mr. Gates, go to Pakistan and Nigeria and Afghanistan and spend your money as you will, just give me a break with the pro-vaccine lies and propaganda when it affects me and my country.

Thanks to Ginger Taylor and Adventures in Autism for making me aware of Gates' statements and inspiring this piece.

  1. Anti-vaxers like you should be held criminally responsible for every child death that results from the ignorant following your advice

  2. Could you tell us one thing: what would it take for you to believe that vaccinations are benifitial?

Please tell us about the thousands of deaths Gates imagines.

Nice name. Under what specific criminal law would this be pursued?

Beneficial to do what? Save me from the mumps and chickenpox?

  4. Wow, talk about reinforcing the frist comment. When asked what it would take to make you think vaccines beneficial the first thing you think of is yourself: "Save me from the mumps and chickenpox?".

No asshole, beneficial to the people who could die from the diseases vaccines prevent.

  5. Why I'm bothering I don't really know...You are an asshole. You and your conspiracy theorist friends are killing children.

  6. Brilliant article. It is odd how a parent who doesnt inject their child with toxins and chemicals as a personal choice seems to bother others. If your child is vaccinated what have you to worry about if mine is not?

I think anyone who sits down and logically weighs up the risks of catching said disease and thoroughly researches the ingredients will not vaccinate. Then if you want to understand the conspiracy, no 'theories' here, only facts, follow the money trail.

  10. (not the same anonymous). - I wish people could talk with respect to one another & not use foul language (and often poor grammar & spelling).  It completely undermines everything else they say.  It seems as though all the pro-vaccinators are... well... not exactly English majors, if their presentation is any indication.

I would LIKE the dialogue to progress.  I would LIKE to believe in vaccines.  Life would be so much simpler that way.   I would LIKE to have someone... anyone... succeed in explaining how vaccines are not damaging and even maybe helpful.

If I saw nothing else, Dr Tenpenny's talk on vaccines, using many many quotes from the CDC, would at least make me stop vaccinating until I learned more.  But that's just the latest video in a long line of info I've seen that seems to have a wealth of information on the science behind vaccines.  All the pro-vaccine camp seems to say is, "no connection has been found" between Autism & vaccines.  First- well done.  Amazing what you won't find when you're not looking.  Second, let's back off Autism and just look at the forest of ill health of our children.  I believe it extends far beyond vaccines.  I believe epidurals, Pitocin, and other drugs & birth interventions are also to blame. I believe fluoride is to blame.  Toxins... are to blame.

We will never listen to each other on any subject when we hurl insults, swears, and use "u" for "you"... for a start.  (I will respect you enough to use proper sentences.).

Things NOT to bring up now over Thanksgiving dinner are religion, politics, natural childbirth, and vaccines.  Really?  "Never try to win a religious argument.  You'll only convince the other person they're right.". So let's stop arguing and try to find answers.

  11. Oh, and a p.s. - I also believe immediate cord clamping is extremely damaging to a new baby. "Without the burst of blood from the placenta, the infant suffers a drop in blood pressure as its lungs fail to open as they should, creating a chain reaction of effects that can include brain damage and lung damage. Immediate cord clamping can cause hypotension, hypovolemia and infant anemia, resulting in cognitive deficits. Some have even theorized that the rise in autism could be linked at least in part to early cord clamping."

So again I think Autism is simply one problem of many, and vaccines are one problem of many in today's medical lack-of-care.

  12. Bill Gates father was head of Planned Parenthood, he was desperate to get the population down, Bill Gates is sterilizing these Third World children with his vaccines, Polio is just a fig-leaf to cover the politically incorrect reality.
